In this series of conversations, Katrin Wolf, professor for Human-Computer Interaction at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin, and Albrecht Schmidt, chair in Human Centered Ubiquitous Media in the Computer Science Department of the LMU Munich and member of the SFB-TRR 161, and you, as the audience, will talk with experts about virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mixed reality (MR) looking at research challenges, technologies, and applications and also questioning how such technologies can be used to create a positive impact on our health and wellbeing.
Invited expert on January 12th, 2021 is Mel Slater, researcher at the University of Barcelona and co-director of Event Lab.
The Event Lab is at the interface between computer science, psychology and neuroscience. They carry out technical research on virtual environments, with applications to research questions in cognitive neuroscience and psychology. Their special interest is the brain's body representation and the consequences of body ownership.
