Abstract
Mathematics is critical for the study of computer science. On the one hand, mathematical skills are indispensable for computing practice, with increasing relevance given the growing data orientation. On the other hand, many CS students find it difficult to cope with the requirements of mathematics at university, especially in the incoming phase of their studies. Mathematics is often perceived by students as a mere stumbling block and as not related to CS.The challenge is how to anchor mathematical methods in computational thinking. In my talk I would like to present a teaching design for math education for CS undergraduates, which we have been implementing for three years at the University of Konstanz. I will also discussa possible transfer into a digital teaching design.
